Chemo and radiotherapy can change the quality of your new hair growth and we recommend wait time to make sure your new hair growth is not compromised. For chemotherapy we ask that you wait four-six months before getting extensions as your new hair growth is delicate. Radiotherapy is a minimum six month wait time as your new hair will be extremely delicate and the texture may have changed.
Alopecia can result in globally thin hair, or may cause concentrated hair loss in particular areas. Because of the nature of the hair loss, a consultation is required to see if hair extensions can cover, thicken and volumise hair.
Great Lengths hair extensions can be applied to hair that is at least 10cm long. In some rare cases, hair extensions may be applied to shorter hair, but this usually means you will have to make sure to style it each and every day.
