Great Lengths uses only 100% human hair that comes from willing donors in India. The hair is 100% Indian which is the only hair type that has natural wave like Caucasian hair. Great Lengths hair extensions not only dry with a natural wave, but they take to styling very well, holding curl and beachy waves.

Hair Cross-sections

If you look at the cross section of different ethnicities you’ll understand why some have wave or curl while others don’t.

Asian hair is a round cross section and because of its perfectly round shape the hair falls completely straight and doesn’t maintain a curl.
Caucasian Hair – Has a slightly oblong shape to the cross section, and the hair, while usually not extremely curly, will have natural wave. This is identical to the Indian hair used in Great Lengths.
African American hair – The cross-section shows an extremely flat shape which means the hair falls into very tight, small waves.

Great Lengths Curly Extensions

While Great Lengths does not have curly haired extensions, the good news is that Great Lengths hair extensions can be permed. In order to get Great Lengths to match your curls you will need to book a consultation with your Great Lengths stylist so that they can look at the texture and colour of your hair. They will then order the Great Lengths and perm them before your application.

Great Lengths On Very Straight Hair

Great Lengths has the effect of adding wave and a little bit of movement to very straight hair. If you have Asian hair, or just pin straight hair and you are looking for extensions, Great Lengths will blend in well.

Great Lengths on African American Hair

Unfortunately, Great Lengths is not suitable for African American hair types as it will not have the same texture and will not blend in well.
