How Do You Apply Hair Extensions? : The Definitive Guide

All Great Lengths applications go through the same process. This process ensures that your completed look will be absolutely perfect, and that you feel confident with your investment.

Step 1

Hair Extension Consultation

When you find a salon to install your Great Lengths extensions your first appointment will be a short consultation. During that consultation you’ll be asked about the look you want to achieve with hair extensions and your stylist will colour match you with our swatch rings. This is your chance to ask the questions you’d like! By the end of the appointment you should feel confident in the Great Lengths hair that’s been recommended for you. Your stylist will give you a cost quote, take a deposit to secure your next appointment, and you’ll set a date for your application.

Step 2

Your Hair Extension Application

On your application day, your hair extensions will be prepared and your hair will be washed, dried and then the Great Lengths extensions will be applied. Following the application, your stylist will ‘blend in’ the extensions by cutting the ends of them so they look natural. Don’t worry, all our extensions come with 3cm extra length to account for having them trimmed. You will not lose any length in this process. The entire application may take anywhere from two to four hours depending on how many hair extensions are put in and the level of blending.

Step 3

Hair Extension Check Up

About 2 weeks after your application it’s very important to go into the salon and have a quick check up. This is to make sure that the extensions have settled and feel comfortable for you. It’s also you chance to raise any concerns or ask any questions. Our goal is to always look after your hair.
